The DURHAM range of surface fluorescent fittings is suitable for all prison, police and high security establishment lighting applications. The aesthetically pleasant body is manufactured from high quality 2mm thick sheet steel which is given a special textured white EPC resilient paint finish as standard. Versions are available in various T8 and compact fluorescent lampways to suit individual requirements.

The geartray is manufactured from EPC coated sheet steel and also acts as a reflector. It is designed to be easily maintained. Versions are available using high efficacy compact fluorescent lamps as well as standard T8 fluorescent tubes. Each type within the range can also be fitted with a 7W compact fluorescent unit to act as a night light. The opal diffuser is manufactured from 3mm thick formed Polycarbonate sheet and is smooth on the outside to enable easy cleaning. It is held in place by secure endcaps and is locked by special stainless steel snake eye bolts.

All luminaires in this range are designed to comply with BS EN 60598 and are suitable for operating in interior applications. Each luminaire also complies with European Directive 89/336/EEC and carries the CE mark.

The DURHAM range of luminaires is approved by the Home Office for use as cell lighting in HM Prisons, Police Stations and other secure establishments. It has been tested by the Home Office to meet the arduous requirements found in secure environments. The unique design ensures that all versions can be used in those areas where strict tamper control is required. Such areas could be:
