Keilder is a range of Vandal Resistant luminaires for use in subways. The body is made from sheet steel, phosphate coated and then EPC painted in fine textured white as standard. The phosphate coating carries a 5 year conditional guarantee against rust. Fittings are available in either recessed or surface versions. 

The diffuser is made from 3mm or 5mm thick opal or prismatic GE Lexan Polycarbonate as standard which is very resilient to attack. As an additional option, the luminaires can be fitted with 3mm GE Lexan Margard which is virtually indestructible. Behind this, either an opal or prismatic 2mm GE Lexan Polycarbonate panel produces the required light control. The panel is held into a formed steel frame by a secured secondary frame and gasketted to prevent ingress of water or dust. The frame is secured to the body with special stainless steel high security bolts.  

The geartray is removable and acts as a reflector. It is made from mild steel and finished with an EPC coat in white. Versions are available in 600, 1200, 1500 and 1800mm lengths, single or twin tube and switchstart or high frequency electronic control gear. Integral 3 hour maintained emergency gear can also be fitted.  All luminaires in this range are designed to comply with BS EN 60598 and are suitable for operating in interior applications. Each luminaire also complies with European Directive 89/336/EEC and carries the CE mark.
